Spring Clean Your Small Business

Spring has sprung! With the welcome of warmer weather outside, many people have the urge to go outside and explore. Spring is the time to kick out the dust, clear the air and re-organize more than just your home, it’s a time to revamp your business, too. Taking the time to do some spring-cleaning in your business will allow customers to feel more inviting in a professional workplace. Here are some tips to start spring-cleaning your business.

With the warmer weather approaching, host an event, and bring your customers together to celebrate. An event is a great way to bring your customers together, create a sense of community, and get a better idea of what they’re interested in. Keep it simple and encourage guests to snap a photo during the event and post it to their social media. Don’t forget about those who aren’t able to make it to your in-store event. Hold a virtual one on your website and offer promotions.

A clear space equals a clear mind. So, head into spring with some good energy by doing a deep cleaning and decluttering of your space. Look at your space from the perspective of a potential client or customer and note exactly where you can improve. If you have employees, it’s the perfect opportunity to get your staff together for some team building and bonding.

If you aren’t already attempting to maintain a low number of emails in your inbox here’s your chance to give it a try. If you’ve have a lot of emails sitting in your inbox and you aren’t comfortable deleting them right away, create folders and organize them. That way you’re only saving what you need and in the process you’re making emails easy to find. You should run your inbox, don’t let it run you.

Time is money.  Time is actually your most precious asset. Every person gets 24 hours in a day and seven days in a week. Getting rid of activities that don’t produce results is just as important as getting rid of underperforming expenses.

It’s easy to fall into a routine, doing things because you’ve always done them.  While it delivered value in the beginning, the tool or resource may no longer meet your need.  The business world is always changing and evolving, you need to be sure you change with it. Spring cleaning your business doesn’t have to involve changing everything or starting from scratch with new and exciting initiatives. It’s the small changes that will ultimately make the biggest difference in your bottom. Taking time to spring-clean your business can improve overall customer and employee morale. We hope using these tips will put your business on the path for success.
